PD Pumps & Systems, an engineering
company, was instituted in 1989 to serve the industry with
innovative pump designs to address their special needs.
The entrepreneur behind the venture is
a technocrat graduated from a premier engineering college
. Armed with the qualification as an engineer, he horned
his business acumen by moving west to join the marketing
team of a company selling screw pumps. The experience proved
to be invaluable and helped in the understanding of pump
requirements in major industrial sectors like steel, power,
rayon, petroleum, sugar, ship building and so on.
An accelerated spurt of industrial activity
in the wet processing sectors in the early '90's in India
exponentially increased the demand for positive displacement
pumps. Such pumps had the capability of handling highly
viscous liquids and high solid content for various industries.
Industries had a plethora of choices when it came to the
traditional centrifugal pumps. However, the available market
resources, for positive displacement pumps at that time
were insufficient to meet the changing needs.
It was PD Pumps & Systems
that had the vision, the technical capability and the commercial
strength to institute a manufacturing company dedicated
exclusively to the making of positive displacement pumps.
P D Pumps & Systems
made all the right moves to delegate the various activities
of its business according to the strengths found in the
various parts of the country.
The south of India is well known for education
and technical abilities. P D Pumps & Systems set-up
a state -of -the -art manufacturing facility in Coimbatore,
which is renouned for it's world-class foundaries. This
facility manufactures the Ramo pumps, which is now relocated
at Sankari.
The West is the way to go for business
and to tap this asset; P D Pumps & Systems has its marketing
headquartered in Mumbai.
With an eye on growth and innovation,
the company has an R&D facility that works on new concepts.
The R&D is well attuned to market dynamics and is set-up
in Mumbai to ensure that product needs of the sector are
fulfilled as and when perceived.
Over the years the company has introduced
many types of screw pumps and more new uses for the products.
Their product profile today include pumps that are capable
of handling any liquid be it water, sensitive fluids, viscous
fluids, corrosive fluids or even solid laden fluids.
Superior technical abilities, quality
products, diligent after sales support and excellent application
abilities to solve even the most challenging fluid handling
problems of any industry has enabled PD Pumps & systems
to reach the high standards that were set. The Group has
reached its goal of manufacturing reliable, economic positive
displacement pumps that are at par with global standards.
This is attested by the fact that tens of thousands Ramo
pumps are operational today not only in India but all over
the world.
